God has called me to pray for my children. I have a very specific and unique job. No one else can be their mother, and thus, no one can pray for them as I can. It is a one-of-a-kind type of blessing that I don’t intend to waste. Today, I wanted to share some specific verses and prayers I have been praying over my sweet babes in this difficult season of life. They have encountered evil people and have to come to terms with not only evil existing in the world, but the evil that has been done to them personally. As I shared recently, I have chosen the road of forgiveness and joy, but I can only lead my children in this example. They will have to decide for themselves how the respond.
I love being able to document these prayers and my kids love finding their name, picture and the thoughts I have for them. They are always thoughts for great things. Parents, we are prophets! What we say about our children can greatly influence who they become. So speak life, speak truth and bring hope at all times.
My only son. My firstborn. How you have grown! You are almost a man, taller then your mama and full of energy, brains and a thirst for knowledge that cannot be quenched. Stay strong. Live by the Spirit, not by just what your eyes can see. You are amazing and I can’t wait to see you change the world.
2 Corinthians 5:7
My beautiful one. You amaze me every day with your strength and courage, filled with grace. You will not fail, my beautiful girl. God will go before you and behind you and nothing will ever stop you. God will help you in all things at all times. You were created for this time and God will give you the strength to endure all things.
My joy and my delight. You color my world. Baby girl- Be filled with Joy! It is who you are. Always let praise be on your lips. Brighten the world with your laughter and smile. Be the color in a world full of grey skies. Life maybe hard, but you don’t ever have to let your heart become hardened. Rejoice, and pray. Give thanks for it is the will of the Lord on your life.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
My dear one. You are so fierce! Don’t let anyone stop you from fighting the good fight. You are fearless and bold, filled with the Holy Spirit. You are created as a mighty warrior in the Lord’s army. You got this! You are a woman of valor. You are brave and you are free. Nothing will hold you back from what you set your mind to do. Take down that giant!
1 Samuel 17:32
All of these entries were done using elements from the She is Brave Collection from the print and pray shop at Illustrated Faith.com. The proceeds from the sale of these kits will go towards the owner of Bella Blvd and her recovery. I printed mine on clear sticker paper available here.
